Cats Are Smart....

CATS ARE SMART! If the right definition for the term “Intelligence” would be “the ability to acquire and remember information and the capability to use them while solving different problems”, then the cat is definitely the most intelligent animal from all those surrounding us. Try to put an adult cat in a room in which she has never been before and see how she is inspecting every corner of that room. This detailed search gives her valuable information about the environment, information that can even save her life in some cases. Actually, the curiosity specific to cats never harmed them, on the contrary it gave her the reputation of having nine lives! We al know that the ability cats have to inspect surroundings is legendary, but, at the same time it has been proven that this ability is superior to that of any other domestic animal.     The intellectual capacity of the cat is demonstrated by her ability of using information she already has to pass safely through certain s...

How To Say NO.....

HOW TO SAY NO Sometimes in life we stumbled across situations in which we should’ve said no, but because of various reasons such as being shy, ashamed or afraid we cannot firmly refuse and later we regret our weakness. No matter what the circumstances, how can we say no without having to hurt the other person’s feelings? Although it is possible not to succeed, we can at least try to ease the pain for the person involved. Any answer that sounds like: “No, I won’t give you what you want” means a great disappointment and a feeling of failure for the one that came to you with the proposal. Remember that the idea of not getting what they want is hard for everyone.   If in your mind and heart you can foresee the possibility to accept a proposition, choose carefully the answer. Under no circumstances use lines like:” What do you mean? Me and You? Are you out of your mind?” Think a little bit and you will realize that the person you are about to hurt so rudely made you a compliment by...

you are what you eat.....

You Really Are What You Eat  Recent dietary research has uncovered 14 different nutrient-dense foods that time and again promote good overall health.  Coined “superfoods,” they tend to have fewer calories, higher levels of vitamins and minerals, and many disease-fighting antioxidants.  Beans (legumes), berries (especially blueberries), broccoli, green tea, nuts (especially walnuts), oranges, pumpkin, salmon. soy, spinach, tomatoes, turkey, whole grains and oats, and yogurt can all help stop and even reverse diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and some forms of cancer. And where one might have an effect on a certain part of the body, it can also affect the health of other body functions and performance, since the whole body is connected.  With these 14 foods as the base of a balanced, solid diet, weight loss gimmicks and other fly-by-night programs can become a thing of the past in your life.   Conversely, the ill-effects of an unbala...

Vegenism is a BOMB......

Vegenism is a BOMB…….  If you’ve eaten meat and animal products your whole life, you might think, why switch to a vegetarian diet? You’ve lived your whole life eating eggs, hamburgers, hot dogs, poultry, so why switch now? There could be many reasons to switch. Start by looking in the mirror. Are you at a healthy weight? Do you look and feel good most of the time? Do you wake up energized? Or do you wake up tired and sluggish?  How is your general health? Is your blood pressure within a healthy range? Are your cholesterol and blood sugar ranges normal? If they’re not, consider what you’re eating on a daily basis.  How do you feel after eating? Do you feel energized, as if you’ve fed your body what it needs? Or are you tired and dragged out? Do you often need a nap after eating? Is that what food is supposed to do for us, make us tired and sleepy?  Not really. Food should nourish and feed the body and leave us energized and refreshed. The human body is a machine and n...

Animal Abuse....

Animal Abuse….  People have different motivations for eating a vegetarian diet. For many people, it’s a health issue. They need to reduce their weight, bring down their blood pressure and cholesterol, manage their blood sugars. A vegetarian diet helps them do this.  For others, it’s also moral and ethical decision not to eat animal products. Through the centuries, we’ve become accustomed to thinking of man as superior to all other animals on the planet. We use animals for food, clothing, shoes, belts or other accessories. We use them for scientific experiments. We discount their place on the earth and consider that animals are here to serve us and our needs. We humans have to change the mindset that animals should be used for food or for clothing. It's needless and inhumane use of animals, such as killing or trapping them for their fur.  Animals have rights and deserve to have their best interests taken into consideration, regardless of whether they are useful to humans. ...

JUST FOR FUN.....????

Just For Fun????    It probably began in the past when man began to understand the beauty of animals. Coupled with his power over them, he probably decided that he wanted to have the beautiful animals that he had encountered on his hunting trips to be near him. Man has domesticated quite a few animals to serve his needs, and sometimes to serve no need at all. It is one thing to keep an animal nearby to serve one’s needs but it is cruel to want to keep them ‘just for fun’. Hence, keeping animals and birds in cages is quite ridiculous if not cruel.  An animal or bird is so carefree in its own environment. It knows of no restrictions. It goes about its own business of eating and drinking and creating babies. Even domestic animals would like to walk about and act according to their instincts and desires. Caging them would deprive them of this. How often have we seen caged animals pacing their cages in futile attempts to escape? Can we imagine the frustration that they feel? W...

If Slaughterhouses would have glass walls, we all would have become Vegitarian!!

If most of us thought about the conditions in which chickens used for meat and eggs are raised and slaughtered, we’d become vegetarian on the spot. Egg-laying chickens can be raised in cages with 6 chickens to a cage, each chicken getting only 67 square inches of space for its lifetime.  Unless they’re certified and labeled as being free-range or organic or natural, they might have been fed growth hormones to get them to slaughter faster, and antibiotics to combat the diseases which come from being raised in cramped and less-than-clean conditions.  And consider what the recommendations are for cleaning up after touching poultry? It’s recommended to clean surfaces with bleach to remove bacteria, and to wash your hands thoroughly after touching a chicken. Do you really want to put something into your body that requires bleach to clean up after? Something that needs to be cooked to specific temperatures to be sure you’ve destroyed any bacteria that could make you sick?  Chic...

Our Body's Lifeblood.... WATER!!

The human body can last weeks without food, but only days without water. The body is made up of approximately 55 to75 per cent water. Water forms the basis of blood, digestive juices, urine and perspiration and is contained in lean muscle, fat and bones. As the body can’t store water, we need fresh supplies every day to make up for losses from lungs, skin, urine and feces. Water is needed to maintain the health and integrity of every cell in the body, keep the bloodstream liquid enough to flow through blood vessels, help eliminate the by products of the body’s metabolism, helps to flush out toxins, regulate body temperature through sweating, lubricate and cushion joints and carry nutrients and oxygen to the body’s cells, just to name a few. Drinking refreshing, clean water plays a major role in reducing the risk of certain diseases. The loss of body water through urination is greatly increased by the ingestion of decaffeinated and alcoholic beverages. These drinks have a diuretic effec...

MILK DOES A BODY BAD!!

MILK DOES A BODY BAD!!  Even if you don’t eat meat, you might think drinking or using milk is part of a vegetarian diet. We all have images of farmers pumping milk by hand, and it seems a natural part of life and a benign use of the cow. But we don’t really think much about it at all, do we? Do you know how a cow raised for producing milk lives its life? Like most animals used for mass consumption, a milk cow lives in cramped and often filthy conditions. It is fed hormones to stimulate its reproductive processes, because that’s what a mother’s milk is for – to feed its baby. As soon as a calf is born though, it’s taken from its mother. A male calf often goes to a terrible fate to be raised for veal; a female calf often has the same fate as its mother. Often the cows mourn for their babies. They’ll be seen bellowing for them and looking for them. Mass producing milk for human consumption has disrupted the natural order of things. The cows are fed hormones to continue to stimulate mi...

Six Mistakes During A Job Interview!!

SIX MISTAKES DURING A JOB INTERVIEW!!  1. You talk too much!!  The  fact that you are open to discussions and your  belief that you are the best can turn against you. There is the risk of boring the other person with so many details and you can even look like you don’t have the capacity to concentrate on one given subject. 2. You don’t listen!!  Assure that the answers you are about to give is the one the question is asking for. This is a test that will demonstrate the employer that your future project will follow the exact steps he’s expecting. 3. Falling for it!!  An experienced recruiter will set you the trap of relaxation, trying to make you believe that this is an interview with a little importance. This does not mean that you have to avoid jokes or affirmations that have nothing to do with the professional area, but you must always promptly go back to the subject of the discussion. 4. You are trying to take the lead!!  If you try this you can see...

You don't have to be wealthy to eat well !!

You Don't Have to Be Wealthy to Eat Well…  Many people complain that organic foods are more costly than conventional. In many cases, organic foods are priced higher. However, people aren’t weighing the costs of eating healthy against the costs of eating poorly. Indians spend millions each week on “coffee house foods”—fatty lattés and sugary cappuccinos, not to mention the white-floured, trans fatty pastries that go along with them. If you were to keep a strict accounting of all the money you spent on soda, pizza, potato chips, pastries, etc., then the question is not so much how much things cost, but where the money is being spent. And the costs don’t just stop there. The health hazards of the fungicide, pesticide, herbicide and chemical residuals found on conventional foods have worsened our health.  Such substances also compromise our immunologic defenses and are disruptive to our endocrine systems.  But not only are conventional foods more harmful because of chemical c...
